World of Industry 2011
1st Part of WIN - World of Industry was held between 3 – 6 February 2011 in TÜYAP Fair and Congress Center in Istanbul with the support of 74 sectoral associations and organizations. At the fair, thousands of products and services related to machinery, metal working, welding, surface treatment and materials handling were introduced to the industry professionals.
This year’s show hosted 170 Indian exhibitors in scope of “Partner Country India Project”. As a result of fruitful cooperation with the largest export promotion council in India EEPC India, efficient business deals have been realized between Turkey, India and the other countries exhibiting at the fair. Chairman of EEPC India Mr. Aman Chadha stated: “We are happy to be here at WIN – World of Industry Part 1. We welcomed a lot of visitors and exhibitors at our pavilion not only from Turkey, from different countries such as Bulgaria, Iran and Syria as well. This influenced and pleasantly surprised our Indian companies, because they were expecting mainly visitors from Turkish market. The exhibitors got good responses from Turkish and foreign visitors. In aspect of business deals, some joint venture and business agreements happened”. Indian State Minister of Commerce and Industry Mr. Jyotiraditya M. Scindia attended the opening ceremony of the show as well.
For the first time this year Machinery Fair was organized with its new name and new concept as “Metal Working Fair”. The fair offered various products and components with its enlarged content, specialized infrastructure and clear visitor profile to the industry professionals. German Engineering Federation VDMA’s Country Manager Turkey Mr. Friedrich Wagner indicated: “Since 2002, German government and VDMA supports WIN – World of Industry. Exhibitors in German Pavilion were again pleased to exhibit at WIN 2011 Part 1. The strong orientation of Machinery industry towards Metal Working even strengthened the profile of the show.”
WIN – World of Industry Part 1 continued to be the meeting point of national and international exhibitors with buyer delegates invited especially from neighboring countries by the organizer and as well as Undersecretariat of Foreign Trade (DTM). Buyer delegates from Albania, Belarus, UAE, Bosnia Herzegovina, Morocco, Georgia, Croatia, Kenya, Kuwait, Sudan, Iran, Jordan, Tunisia and Greece were hosted under the scope of the special program called ‘Hosted Buyer Program’ and they had chance to attend face-to-face interviews with the exhibitors.
